Secrets surface and tensions run high as CTV’s new original mystery event series THE DISAPPEARANCE debuts this fall, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning October 1 on CTV and CTV GO. The six-part, hour-long series features a stellar ensemble cast, including Emmy®-winner Peter Coyote (E.T.) and Critics’ Choice Television Award-nominee Aden Young (RECTIFY), and airs in a prime hammock in CTV’s unrivalled prime-time fall lineup on Sunday nights – between scorching Top 5 hit LUCIFER at 8 p.m. ET/PT and new mystery-thriller TEN DAYS IN THE VALLEY at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Two weeks in advance of its October 1 debut, a special sneak peek of the series premiere episode will be available September 17 on CTV.ca and on demand through television service providers across the country. THE DISAPPEARANCE is also available as a CraveTV FIRST LOOK every Saturday, beginning Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. ET. The French language version of the series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Super Écran, beginning October 1.

Produced in 4K by award-winning Productions Casablanca in association with NBCUniversal International Studios, and shot in Montréal last fall, THE DISAPPEARANCE follows the Sullivan family in the wake of a terrifying family drama. As the fractured family bands together to solve the mystery that has uprooted their lives, long-held secrets are uncovered. Driven by hope and a relentless determination to do whatever necessary to uncover the mystery, the same hidden truths that threaten to shatter this family may also be the very key to reuniting them.

In addition to Peter Coyote, who plays retired judge and prosecutor Henry Sullivan; and Aden Young as scruffy and soulful musician Luke Sullivan, Henry’s son and Anthony’s loving father; THE DISAPPEARANCE also stars Gemini Award-nominee Camille Sullivan (THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE) as Helen Murphy Sullivan, Anthony’s devoted mother; Gemini Award-nominee Joanne Kelly (WAREHOUSE 13) as Catherine Sullivan, Henry’s daughter, Luke’s sister, and a charming, devoted palliative care nurse; Genie Award and Silver Lion-winner Micheline Lanctôt (UNITÉ 9) as Susan Bowden, a tough, experienced Lieutenant-Detective; JUNO Award-winner Kevin Parent (Café de Flore) as Sergeant-Detective Charles Cooper, Susan’s partner; and newcomer Michael Riendeau as Anthony Sullivan, Luke and Helen’s son.

In the series premiere (Sunday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), when Anthony’s school project gets him in trouble with his teacher, it creates tension between Luke and Henry. After Henry sends Anthony on a scavenger hunt for his birthday, Helen and Luke panic when their son mysteriously vanishes, setting off a puzzle of unthinkable consequences.

THE DISAPPEARANCE is created and written by the Montréal-based writing team of Normand Daneau and Geneviève Simard and directed by Peter Stebbings (Defendor, ORPHAN BLACK). The series is produced by Joanne Forgues of Productions Casablanca. Executive producers are Joanne Forgues, Sophie Parizeau, and Jean-Marc Casanova, creators of the Prix Gémeaux-winning series, LES INVINCIBLES and SÉRIE NOIRE. Emmy® Award-winning JoAnn Alfano (30 ROCK) and Kristen Del Pero are executive producers for NBCUniversal International Studios.

THE DISAPPEARANCE is produced by Productions Casablanca in association with Bell Media and NBCUniversal International Studios, with the financial participation of the Canada Media Fund, the Cogeco Program Development Fund, and the assistance of the Québec Film and Television Tax Credit, and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. Killjoys: Hullen highjinks and pregnancy horrors

How will Dutch survive if she kills Aneela? That was the most pressing issue facing our heroes after last week’s instalment. “Heist, Heist, Baby” was one hells of a fun episode—Jelco was the best!—but things got serious when Dutch told D’avin about the situation involving Aneela and her fatal tie. D’avin says he’s cool with the plan, but we’re pretty sure he won’t keep her secret.

Which brings us to this week’s episode, “Reckoning Ball,” written by Adam Barken and directed by Peter Stebbings. Here’s what Space says about the main storylines:

John must confront his nemesis face-to-face when Delle Seyah suddenly arrives to set terms of war via parley. As D’avin and Dutch plan a counterattack, Alvis tries to ready everyone for war through the ritual of Reckoning.

Alvis is in the building
And he’s got one heck of a story to tell regarding the devil who came down to Arkyn. Some of his tale to an inquisitive young woman we’ve heard before, but Alvis reveals some key details and it’s always good to get a recap on the green, the Scarbacks’ role, and the legend of the 13 monks. The story is bookended in spectacular fashion in the closing moments of “Reckoning Ball.”

Delle Seyah pays a visit
Our heroic trio is shocked to find Delle Seyah alive (especially Johnny) and pregnant. Clearly, she’s there to fulfill the plan Aneela mentioned in “Heist, Heist, Baby,” but what does the parley involve? And who is in the most danger? And who or what is the father of her baby?

Zeph has an idea
And it just might give our team the win. You know, if it works.

Pippin Foster returns
Yup, Atticus Mitchell—who we haven’t seen since the Season 3 return, “Boondoggie”—is back. How the black market dealer factors into this week’s plot is as entertaining as it is ingenious. Pip’s scenes allow Barken to really skewer the sci-fi world to hilarious effect. Speaking of guest turns, a certain Hullen (and her abs) who got into Fancy’s head is back for more fun.

Fancy has a challenge for Turin
With war on the way, Fancy questions Turin’s loyalty to the cause.

Pree sings
And it’s friggin’ fantastic. (And about time, frankly.)

City original Bad Blood gets September debut date; plus teaser trailer

Honour. Betrayal. Revenge… Ghosts? No matter your tastes, City is serving up something for everyone this fall, and it all kicks off with two exclusive premiere screenings at Fan Expo Canada on September 1 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Seated on a first-come, first-served basis, Fan Expo fans will get a sneak peek of City’s critically acclaimed, six-part event series at the world premiere screening of Bad Blood, produced in partnership with New Metric Media and Sphère Média Plus in association with DHX Media and Skyvision. While imprisoned in Colorado’s Supermax Prison for the murders of three Bonanno family members, Montreal mobster Vito Rizzuto (Anthony LaPaglia, Without a Trace) relies heavily on his right-hand man, Declan Gardiner (Kim Coates, Sons of Anarchy) to be his eyes and ears on the outside. But as the thriving empire he built is dismantled, Rizzuto watches helplessly as his closest friends and family members are mysteriously murdered one by one – ultimately culminating in a Shakesperean-level revenge mission upon his release.

Hosted by Entertainment City’s Devo Brown, the live Q&A following the screening will feature Executive Producer Mark Montefiore (NMM, Letterkenny), series stars Tony Nappo (Saw franchise) and Maxim Roy (Shadow Hunters), and authors of the best-selling book and inspiration for the series, “Business or Blood: Mafia Boss Vito Rizzuto’s Last War,” Peter Edwards and Antonio Nicaso. Plus, fans can enjoy a fun photo opp and take home their own copy of the book, with the newly reprinted “Bad Blood” cover.

Part of Fan Expo Canada, the Bad Blood screening and panel will be held on Friday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Room 701A.

But before all the drama, explore the paranormal with the exclusive Canadian premiere of City’s new, live-action comedy, Ghosted. Taking place on Friday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. in Room 701A, Ghosted follows the partnership between two polar opposites – a cynical skeptic (Craig Robinson, Mr. Robot, Hot Tub Time Machine franchise) and a genius “true believer” (Adam Scott, Big Little Lies, Parks and Recreation) in the paranormal – who are recruited by a secret government agency, known as ‘The Bureau Underground’, to save the human race from aliens.

Following the screening, don’t miss a live Q&A, moderated by Entertainment City’s Devo Brown, and photo opps with star Craig Robinson. Opening the show, fans will also be the first in Canada to see an exclusive, extended clip of City’s new comedy, The Orville, starring Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, Ted franchise). A live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future, the series follows The U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the problems of everyday life.

Fans who can’t make it to the screenings can catch up on all of the action with the broadcast series premiere of The Orville on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT; Bad Blood on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT; and Ghosted on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, on City.
