When Anthony talked to Ari Millen in September, it had just been announced that he would be the next set of clones on Orphan Black. In case you missed it, here’s their conversation that’s no “cloning” around.

TV, eh? podcast episode 180 – Leave the Blood Stain on Your Rug

Diane, Anthony and Greg went into overtime discussing a plethora of subjects this week, including the role TV, eh? played at this past weekend’s Toronto Screenwriting Conference, Canadian Screen Award winner 19-2 renewed for a third season and a Season 6 return date for Global’s Rookie Blue.

We also reflected on Bell’s decision to fire Kevin Crull, what the reduction of Nova Scotia’s film and TV tax credit could mean for that industry and the CMPA asking the CRTC to reverse its Let’s Talk TV decision regarding independent production companies. And finally, inspired by Diane’s list of the Top 10 Canadian shows of her childhood, Anthony and Greg discussed theirs.

TV Eh B Cs podcast 18 – Aaron Poole and the Charcoal Lemonade Conspiracy

Aaron Poole broke out in his defining performance in Ed Gass-Donnelly’s This Beautiful City, a film for which he was also a producer. He’s played a recurring role on TMN’s Z.O.S: Zone of Separation and was featured in Atom Egoyan’s Adoration. After filming the third act to American indie hit, Circumstance, in Lebanon, Aaron teamed up with Ed Gass- Donnelly and producer Lee Kim once again for the feature Small Town Murder Songs.

Poole is an executive producer and one of the lead actors in The Conspiracy, a mockumentary thriller about secret socieities. Additionally he’s been in Showcase’s Crash and Burn, HBO Canada’s Living in Your Car, the Global series King, BBC America’s Copper, and most recently on CBC’s Strange Empire. He was also featured in Samuel L. Jackson’s The Samaritan, Jason Priestley’s Cas & Dylan, and Jon Cassar’s film Forsaken, starring opposite Kiefer and Donald Sutherland.

TV, eh? podcast episode 179 – Skinny Mocha Frappuccino Basic

It was a podcast chock-full of things for Diane, Anthony and Greg to discuss, including giving a well-deserved shout-out to our loyal Patreons who help keep the podcast up and running.

We also chatted about the fine character evolution we’ve enjoyed on Schitt’s Creek, the interesting fact that Vikings is filming some pre-production stuff with Alexander Ludwig in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., and remarked on how Sudbury, Ont., is becoming a hotbed for TV production with TVO/APTN’s Hard Rock Medical, CraveTV’s Letterkenny and Super Channel’s What Would Sal Do? all setting up shop there.

Diane prepped us on Slice’s upcoming documentary series, Emergency, which spotlights the patients and staff at the Fraser Health network of hospitals, a.k.a. Diane’s day job, we celebrated Jim Henshaw’s blog, The Legion of Decency, and closed out by asking Anthony what channels he’d select as part of his Pick and Pay cable lineup.

TV Eh B Cs podcast 17 – Jonathan Torrens’ Reflections on Canadianity

Jonathan2015-highresJust over the past couple of years alone, in addition to winning a Canadian Screen Award playing Robert Cheeley on Mr. D., he was the host of Wipeout Canada and TV with TV’s Jonathan Torrens on TVTropolis, on which – in addition to hosting – he serves as writer/producer/director. He was also part of the multi-award winning sitcom Call Me Fitz on HBO Canada.

Before that, Torrens was seen as “Gerald” on Spike TV’s popular reality show parody Joe Schmo 2. Hosting stints include both The Kids Are in Charge for the Travel Channel U.S. and Popularity Contest for CMT U.S., as well as co-anchoring and reporting on Reality Remix, Fox’s Reality Channel’s daily flagship show, and making frequent appearances on the E! Network’s popular 50 Most…clip shows.

He’s been dropping rhymes for years as J-Roc on the infectious Trailer Park Boys. His work on five seasons (225 episodes) of Jonovision earned a total of 7 Gemini Award nominations.

Oh… and there was about a decade’s worth of Street Cents that EVERYONE growing up in 90’s Canada remembers.

He’s also currently co-hosting a podcast with Our Lady Peace’s Jeremy Taggart called Canadianity.
