Season 3 of Cabin Pressure a go at Cottage Life

The boys are back! Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan will once again rip-down and renovate a Canadian cottage for Season 3 of Cabin Pressure.

“We’re filming in Haliburton again for the new season,” McAllister and Ryan posted Monday afternoon on their Facebook page. “We’ve actually bought a cabin from a friend—who is moving to Niagara—so we know the building well. Been in and out of it for a long time. We chose our new little fixer upper specifically to resonate with you chaps: it’s a Viceroy: a style with which you’ll be very familiar—and we hope you’ll love what we have planned.”

The pair also revealed local contractor Randy Blain will return for the series’ third go-round: “We couldn’t do this without him!” they stated on Twitter.

The past two seasons of the Cottage Life show found the Scottish interior designers rebuilding Muskoka retreats. In Season 1 they teamed with two friends to renovate a shared property; in Season 2 McAllister and Ryan purchased their own tumbledown abode and built it back up.

The pair report production on Season 3 will begin soon; they buy a rental property and will find out what it means to play landlord. McAllister and Ryan have starred in such projects as Colin & Justin’s Street Swap and Colin & Justin’s Home Heist and have appeared on CityLine.

Slide show: Fan Day at Murdoch Mysteries

Last weekend was a big one for Murdoch Mysteries fans. Thousands attended Saturday and Sunday’s sold-out ticketed events at the show’s Toronto main stage, where everyone not only had access to some of the sets but the series’ stars as well.

Yannick Bisson, Jonny Harris, Hélène Joy, Arwen Humphreys, Thomas Craig and Peter Keleghan were among the cast available for photos, prop master Craig Grant provided laughs as he zipped guests around in the Pendrick Bullet and the doors were opened to the morgue, constabulary, William and Julia’s hotel room and the expansive backlot.

Production begins on Season 3 of Bravo’s 19-2

Bravo announced today that production has begun on Season 3 of its hit original drama 19-2. Set to return to Bravo in 2016, the 10-episode, hour-long drama co-produced by Montréal’s Sphere Media Plus and Echo Media, films on location in Montréal throughout the rest of summer and fall. Season 3 sees the return of beat partners Ben Chartier (Jared Keeso), and Nick Barron (Adrian Holmes), as they navigate the blurred-lines between Montréal politics and organized crime, while the squad searches for redemption and begins to heal from Season 2’s traumatic events including a horrific school shooting, and the shocking revelation that their beloved sergeant was a pedophile.

Season 3 also introduces new cast members including Juliette Gosselin (LES JEUNES LOUPS) as manipulative teen foster child Martine who claims to have information on Kaz’s death; Krista Bridges (DURHAM COUNTY) as Inspector Elise Roberge stationed at 19 to wrap up the investigation of Sergeant Houle; and Joe Pingue (THE EXPANSE) as Charlie Figo, an old-school mobster who goads Nick into uncharted territory. Writers Bruce Smith(DURHAM COUNTY), Jesse McKeown (ROGUE), and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy (CALL ME FITZ) return, as Lynne Kamm (8 Count) and Alison Lea Bingeman (REMEDY) join the writer’s room. Louis Choquette (Rumours, Mirador, Le Gentleman) returns to direct, with Sturla Gunnarsson (MOTIVE), and Stefan Pleszczynski (THE FLASH) also confirmed to direct this season.

Season 3 of 19-2 picks up where Season 2 left off, with a fragmented squad reeling from the revelation that their sergeant, once the glue that held them together, was a pedophile and a mole for organized crime. Although there is a strong bond within 19, each character is caught up in their own drama. Nick’s quest to find his cousin’s killer gives him a dangerously deep look into the organized crime world, rubbing elbows with Montréal’s shadiest characters. While dealing with his alcoholic father, Ben tries to keep Nick on the straight and narrow while building his reputation as both a trustworthy cop and partner to Amelie. With their personal drama as a distraction, Ben and Nick don’t realize the dangers building around them, and the consequences they are about to cause.

 

19-2 is co-produced by Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media in association with Bell Media, and also stars CSA nominee Laurence Lebeouf (DURHAM COUNTY) as Nick’s former lover, Audrey; CSA nominee Dan Petronijevic (SAVING HOPE) as angry beat-cop J.M.; CSA nominee Benz Antoine (THE LISTENER) as struggling alcoholic, officer Tyler; Mylène Dinh-Robic (THE LISTENER) as Tyler’s brazen, no-nonsense partner Béatrice; Bruce Ramsay (CONTINUUM) as manipulative District Commander Marcel Gendron; andAlexander De Jordy (LETTERKENNY) as rookie cop Richard Dulac. CSA nominee Maxim Roy (HEARTLAND) returns to guest star as Nick’s ex-wife Isabelle.

Killjoys and Dark Matter are top specialty programs for Space

− Penultimate Season 1 episode of DARK MATTER guest-stars Wil Wheaton −

Space continues to reach for the stars as its original adventure series KILLJOYS and action thriller DARK MATTER became the top two specialty programs in July for A25-54. The two Canadian series also continue to attract more and more viewers as their inaugural seasons continue, with KILLJOYS claiming a season-high audience of 526,000 viewers for Episode 6 (July 24), and DARK MATTER delivering a season-high audience of 534,000 viewers for Episode 7 (July 24).

Also to note:

  • In their respective Fridays at 9 p.m. ET (KILLJOYS) and 10 p.m. ET (DARK MATTER) timeslots, Space now ranks as the #1 specialty network for A25-54, A18-49, and A18-34.
  • As their season finales approach, KILLJOYS is now averaging 427,000 viewers and DARK MATTER is now averaging 499,400 viewers.

The KILLJOYS Season 1 finale airs Friday, Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. ET, while DARK MATTER airs its final two Season 1 episodes back-to-back on Friday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET. Leading into the finales of KILLJOYS and DARK MATTER, Space is hitting the reset button with the KILLJOYS CATCH-UP MARATHON beginning Sunday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. ET, and the DARK MATTER CATCH-UP MARATHON beginning Sunday, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. ET.

The Mikke Combine’s Commander Delaney Truffault (Torri Higginson, STARGATE: ATLANTIS) offers the crew a golden opportunity to make some much-needed cash and acquire some much-needed protection by taking on a job to heist a mysterious device from a rival corporation. Complications arise in the form of another team of ruthless mercenaries who have also been hired for the same op. The two crews must work together to complete the mission, but getting along proves to be a very tall task.

Friday, Aug. 21

9 p.m. – KILLJOYS - “Escape Velocity” (*Season 1 Finale*)

Tensions on Westerley boil over when the Company arrests a friend close to the Killjoys. As peace in the Quad hangs in the balance, the Killjoys are finally compelled to choose a side.

10 p.m. – DARK MATTER – “Episode Eleven” (*New Episode*)

After losing one of their own, the captive crew plot to retake the ship from a group of ruthless mercenaries bent on delivering them to the Galactic Authority so that they can collect the sizeable bounties on their heads. Their only hope rests with their youngest member, and an unexpected surprise.

Friday, Aug. 28

9 p.m. – DARK MATTER – “Episode Twelve” (*New Episode*)

The team’s handler, Tabor Calchek (David Hewlett, STARGATE: ATLANTIS) sets the crew off on another mission, this one a seemingly simple retrieval op involving a scientist being held against his will on a remote world. What seems like a simple snatch and grab quickly devolves into a horrifying ordeal for one member of the crew, orchestrated by a powerful individual from her past (Wil Wheaton, EUREKA).

10 p.m. – DARK MATTER – “Episode Thirteen” (*Season 1 Finale*)

When members of the crew are targeted, a top to bottom search is enacted for the mysterious perpetrator who somehow gained access to the ship but as the search drags on, suspicion shifts to more familiar possibilities. As the paranoia mounts, alliances shift, secrets are revealed, and the individual responsible for their collective mind wipe finally makes their move.
