Comedian Jeremy Hotz brings his Magical Misery Tour to the Rebecca Cohn on Sunday night
He was just here in Nova Scotia filming a role for the HBO series Call Me Fitz, starring Jason Priestley as an unscrupulous car salesman, with Hotz guesting as “the worst social worker you could ever possibly imagine.” “Then he turns out to be struggling with coming out of the closet,” he chuckles in disbelief. “So there’s lots of levels there. Plus, he has a new kid, at 50. Nice of them to look at me and go, ‘You look 50. “I guess I”m so ugly, I play older now.” Read more.

Big Brother Canada premiere episode to air on Global and Slice

Big Brother Canada – the most talked about series of the season is opening its doors to Canadians this Wednesday, February 27th at 9pm ET/PT. As a celebration of the series debut, Shaw Media has slated the premiere to air as a special presentation on Global in addition to its regular home on Slice. With Slice also available on free preview in nearly 10 million homes across the country, Canadians won’t miss a moment of the action.

You’ve met the houseguests, now follow them as they leave their lives behind and move into the Big Brother Canada house for a shot at the grand prize of $100,000, a $25,000 gift card to The Brick and a brand new Chevrolet Trax. Week to week the house guests will compete in a series of challenges and vote each otherout until one claims victory. As a uniquely social series, fans of Big Brother Canada can connect with the show online by playing the Big Brother Canada Power Play game for points, prizes and potential power over the house.

Following the special premiere schedule, Big Brother Canada, will air only on Slice three nights a week on Wednesdays at 9pm ET/PT, Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT and Sundays at 9pm ET/PT, with eviction episodes on Thursdays. Big Brother Canada After Dark will air on Slice  seven days a week from 2am-5am ET/ 11pm-2am PT. Frank is hired to bring a package from the south of France to Paris, which alerts the dogs at a vehicle checkpoint. After being chased by the police and reaching the agreed transfer point, he realizes the package he’s delivered is a bomb meant for a planned terrorist attack on the French capital. Frank must rush to find and stop Gassam (RJ Parrish), the gang leader who’ll stop at nothing to avenge his brother, accidentally killed during an identity check. After an electric first encounter, Frank can count on Mauga (Athena Karkanis), Gassam’s sister, who wants to stop her brother from committing the irreparable while Carla uses her old connections with the French secret service to protect him. The hunt for the bomb begins.

Space cancels ‘Primeval: New World’
Primeval: New World and its dinosaurs are extinct: Space has cancelled the Canadian sci-fi series after one season. “Unfortunately, the audience growth throughout the first season was not as strong as hoped, even after a schedule move in January from Monday to Tuesday nights to provide the benefit of a lead-in from established series Face Off,” Scott Henderson, vice-president of communications for Bell Media, said in a release Thursday.
