Rick is student-for-a-day at the Coast Guard College in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He practices navigating a fast rescue craft and life-saving techniques on the water. He also turns up in London, ON and goes to bat in the Women’s Intercollegiate Fast Pitch Championship.

In a region home to one of the worst unemployment rates in the country, Windsor-based software company Radix Controls has been devastated by the recession. Once an innovative industry leader they now desperately need Jim’s investment to keep their wheels spinning, before economic realities put the brakes on their business. Later, Jim pays a visit to St. Thomas, Ontario to see a piglet-birthing farm that was ravaged by a 2007 fire. A rebuild that took all the funds available to the owner, New Future Farms desperately needs more cash to get back up and running.

 Those black sharpies will never be the same after Chris Gorham (UGLY BETTY), Laurie Elliott (VIDEO ON TRIAL), Jonathan Goldstein (NPR), and Meaghan Rath (BEING HUMAN) attempt to fill in the blanks.

CBC Television presents an inspiring real-life story of triumph in a small town, as one high school basketball team bands together to rebound from tragedy in THE PHANTOMS, airing Sunday November 18 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT). Inspired by the events surrounding the 2009 New Brunswick provincial championship season of the Bathurst High School varsity basketball team, THE PHANTOMS recounts the team’s difficult road to success after a devastating road accident took the lives of seven players and the wife of the Coach.

In the following year, as tragedy hung over the community, the BHS Phantoms returned to the court to honour the members they had lost. Against the odds, the ragtag group of players gelled as a team, and lifted not only their school ranking, but the spirit of their community. THE PHANTOMS is an inspiring Canadian story about determination, courage and the power of community.

Penned by Gemini award-winning screenwriter Andrew Wreggitt (Mayerthorpe; The Don Cherry Story,) THE PHANTOMS is directed by acclaimed director Sudz Sutherland (Guns; Love Sex & Eating the Bones) and produced by Timothy M. Hogan and Rick LeGuerrier (Canada Russia ’72; Sticks & Stones).

The ensemble cast includes Tyler Johnston (The Killing, Keep Your Head up Kid: The Don Cherry Story, Less Than Kind), Kyle Mac (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Wesley McInnes (Heartland), Holly Deveaux (Less Than Kind), Joy Tanner (Degrassi: The Next Generation) Wally MacKinnon (Canada Russia ’72), Greg Bryk (History of Violence), Tammy Isbell (The L.A. For an hour each day she served as host and executive producer of the critically acclaimed and Emmy Award winning nationally syndicated talk/variety series “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” In her first season on the air, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. She continued her success for five consecutive seasons by winning Daytime Emmy’s for both Outstanding Talk Show Host and Outstanding Talk Show. Rosie was also seen on daytime television as moderator on the tenth season of ABC’s “The View,” and hosted the satellite radio show, “Rosie Radio” on SiriusXM. She returned to television hosting in the fall of 2011 with “The Rosie Show” on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network through spring 2012.
